Rushbanks Farm Caravan and Camping Site is the only official campsite on the banks of The River Stour, we specialise in catering to boaters and canoeists. The river is wide and deep and there is a mile and a half of unobstructed water. There are several jetties so launching over the bank is easy. Downstream there are two-step weir portages leading to the village of Nayland, and upstream two more portages can be navigated to reach the village of Bures St Mary. We are located in the heart of Dedham Vale, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The region was immortalised by the famous paintings of John Constable, and is thus known as Constable Country. We are close to charming Suffolk villages characterised by picturesque 15th century buildings. Rushbanks Farm Campsite was first opened in 1962 and has been in the Bates family for three generations. It is currently operated by Gareth & James Bates who will be pleased to greet you down by the river. Over the years the site has grown in popularity, with people returning at different times of the year to enjoy the changing colours of spring, summer and autumn. Our campsite offers an original and family-friendly atmosphere. We welcome families who want to enjoy themselves, whilst providing the perfect location for nature lovers and those who want to explore the great outdoors or for those who simply want to relax and wind down around a campfire under the stars at night. We do not provide electric hook-up or WiFi. To book email please allow 24 hours for a confirmation email. This year we are open from 12th April to 22th September. Between 20th June and 2nd September there is a 2 night minimum when arriving Friday or Saturday. End May and August Bank holidays are 3 nights minimum (please arrive Friday) Dogs are not allowed at Rushbanks Farm Campsite

Lovely campsite next to a gentle river prime for swimming. The pub is a canoe away! Well priced, simple but good toilets and showers.

Been updated. Now with a toilet block and hot showers. Really nice site. And a great river to play on/in.
