Description
Black Spout Wood is situated to the south of the highland resort town of Pitlochry and takes its name from the impressive Black Spout waterfall.
The walk to the Black Spout waterfall is easily accessible, on foot. An excellent leaflet describing this walk and other local waymarked routes is available from Pitlochry Information Centre.
A series of waymarked paths meanders through the wood, with linking footbridges constructed over the burns. The route to the waterfall takes the walker through a delightful variety of mixed woodland and there are many beautiful spots perfect for quiet reflection and being at one with nature. Close to the waterfall, a carefully positioned viewing platform offers dramatic views.
The car park features picnic tables next to the river in a forested setting.

Picnic area in lovely forest setting. Has picnic tables and walking trails. It is 500 yards walk to the Black Spout waterfall.
