Description
The Visitor Centre was first opened in 1993 and was comprehensively refurbished in 2017. Today the centre attracts thousands of people from all over the world throughout the year.
The Ben Nevis Visitor Centre is situated 1.5 miles along the Glen Nevis road from the Nevis bridge mini-roundabout and 2 miles from Fort William town centre. The visitor centre is accessible by public transport please check the timetable for the latest information.
On arrival at the visitor centre you will find our knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any queries. They can provide information on walks in Glen Nevis and the Mountain track up Ben Nevis, Britains Highest Mountain at 1345 meters. Daily information about the weather is also provided at the centre
The visitor centre has touch screen facts and quizzes and short films to be enjoyed. These cover a range of topics from local history to the pioneers of Ben Nevis, the Gaelic language and the landscape within the Highlands and Glen Nevis.
After you have taken time to enjoy the visitor centre attractions hot and cold drinks and snacks can be purchased within the shop where seats and tables are provided. Ben Nevis merchandise is also available for purchase together with maps, compasses, and outdoor accessories.
The car park provides space for 80 cars and 4 coaches, operating on cash pay and display policy with two options: 1hour for £1 or all day parking for £4.
Toilets are provided, they operate on timers to match the hours of the visitor centre.
