Today, you can walk in the footsteps of rulers both real and fictional. Doune is a popular filming location and has featured in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Game of Thrones and Outlander. Actor/director Terry Jones narrates an audio tour that reveals Dounes exciting history and tales from the Holy Grail film set. To walk around the outside of the castle and the walking trails is free.

This castle is one of the most famous filming locations in Scotland. It was used in many TV shows and films, such as Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Game Of Thrones, and Outlander.
